Group exercise

Our K3 gym in Kauklahti offers a variety of fitness classes from Monday to Thursday as well as on Saturday and Sunday. You can find descriptions of the classes on our website, or contact Stella Näppi-Jehkonen; she will be happy to tell you more about our group training and answer any of your questions. You can find all the lessons we offer currently in the timetable and from the beginning of September, we will be having more classes on the weekends. Welcome to K3!

Class descriptions

Body

Want to tone your body and enhance muscle strength while improving your balance and coordination? If your answer is yes then "body" is the perfect class for you! During this class, you will execute long reps of exercises and really irritate your muscle tissues all over your body. Because this uses up a lot of energy this class will also tone your body and get you a figure you've always dreamed of. Starting it off with an easy warm-up and concluding with stretching the muscle groups that were worked on during each individual class, balances the class to suit advanced and beginner trainers.

- Find Two Warriors Within You !

Have you always wanted to learn the secrets of martial arts; efficient ways of hitting and kicking to the flowy movement of Tai Chi and the total control of your breathing? 

This exercise is a balance of your two inner warriors; the first one is calm, centered, balanced whilst the other one is a strong, energetic fighter. The communication between these two is crucial to combine them like day and night. 

The class is built up from the bases of these two warriors which is emphasized by the music which gives rhythm to the movement. It all starts with a two-part warm-up, first of which is a flow of movement preparing your body for what's to come; giving it the basis to be more flexible. This allows for better blood flow and oxygen uptake. 

During this class, we will try out techniques from karate, aikido capoeira and Thai-boxing, however, no previous knowledge of martial arts is required. We advise you to bring sturdy shoes, a water bottle, and a small towel. 

Fit Yogalates

This Fit Yoga class is based on peaceful and efficient movements that improve endurance, flexibility, and strength. It includes movements from pilates and yoga to strengthen your core and to improve your strength, mobility, relaxation, and focus. The class is concluded with some peaceful stretching. Come in loose clothing in which it is easy for you to move and stretch comfortably. Bare feet are recommended, as well as a long-sleeved shirt if you tend to get cold easily. 

Flow-Yoga

Flow-yoga improves mobility, balance and the control of your own body by gently "flowing" from one movement to the next one. The class will warm and open up your body as well as ease your mind and you will notice your breathing getting steadier and metabolism activating. Flow-yoga combines the best bits from different yogas and the specific content is up to the instructor. The class might include short breathing exercises as well as strengthening movements. 

Latin Fever

Latin fever is a Latino-influenced dance class where the focus can be in hip hop or reggaeton depending on the daily theme.  This class will be spiced up with salsa, chacha and other Latino dance moves so you will be sure to have a lot of fun. 

Body Form

This "Body Form" class is a basic muscle workout to gain strength and mobility. The equipment used includes dumbbells, barbells, different types of weights and a step board. Concluded with peaceful stretching and not including complex series or choreography makes it perfect for anyone who likes to improve their muscle strength, beginner or advanced. 

Pilates

Have you always wanted to better your posture? Pilates is a way to control your own body created by Joseph Pilates, it trains your body's deeper muscles and improves coordination, posture and the mobility of your joints. The base of this class is the right breathing technique and we will only be focusing on simple movements. We recommend coming in with no shoes, either barefoot or in your socks. Come try it out!

Piloxing Barre

Piloxing Barre is an interval class that combines ballet, pilates, and boxing, best done barefoot. Balet bars take this workout to a new dimension and make it easier to work on your balance and the flow of movement. You won't be needing any prior experience in ballet, pilates or boxing because the movements in this class are kept simple and easy to learn.

Piloxing®

Piloxing® is a licensed class including pilates, boxing, and dance, created in the United States by a Swedish dancer called Viveca Jensen. This class is aerobic simultaneously strengthening your muscles, as well as training balance and endurance. Piloxing® will hook you from the first minute and it will leave you sweaty, energized and wanting more. It doesn't include complex or long choreography.  

Pump

Pump is the perfect class for anyone who wants to work on their muscle's endurance. You will be exercising with some upbeat music and all movements are done using a barbell, a step board, and dumbbells so you can choose the weights that suit your body. In this class, you will be working on all your main muscle groups and won't be having to struggle with some complex choreography so it is perfect for all trainees. 

Rvp-form

R = Reisi = thighs
V = Vatsa = abs
P = Pakara = glutes
This class is a focused workout to strengthen your thighs, abs and glutes. The instructor might want to focus on only one or two of these depending on each individual class. The equipment used is barbells, elastic bands, dumbbells, body weight movements and step boards. It's the perfect workout for beginners! 

Yin Yang Yoga

This Yin Yang class is a combination of different yogas. Starting off with dynamic sequences of movements flowing together and moving onto longer, meditative, passively held poses to work on your connective tissues. To conclude this class there will be some peaceful relaxation. The theme of the class changes every week and this is why the class is perfect for both experienced and beginner yogists. 

Zumba®

Zumba® is an energetic and high energy fitness-dance lesson to the rhythm of the hottest Latino hits. The main idea of this lesson is the joy of working out and the easy movements. You won't need any prior experience in dancing to join this class and we will not be creating a complex choreography but simply repeating simple movements typical to any fitness class. Zumba® was originally created by Colombian Alberto "Beto" Perez and what's best is that everyone dances in their own style!
